Damaged baggage

If your baggage was damaged during a flight, bring it to the TG baggage service immediately after arrival. All damages have to be reviewed and evaluated by the baggage service office personnel. When you have reported the damaged baggage, the airport representative will give you a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). This is a unique file reference, connected to your baggage, and you must be sure that you receive a copy of the Property Irregularity Report.

  • If you’re still at the airport, please approach our ground staff immediately.
  • If you’ve already left the airport, please contact your local Thai Airways International office here. Please note that reporting your damage after you left the airport may cause you evidential difficulties.
  • TG does not cover baggage that has not been reported to TG baggage service at the airport and where a claim to TG baggage claim service has not been written and filed within seven days of arrival.

  • Contact details.
  • Flight and baggage tag details.
  • Description/Evidence of the damage.

Depending on the damages of your baggage, it will be repaired or compensated by deducting depreciation. TG will help you repair or exchange your damaged bag. The registration to TG baggage support is considered a written claim and needs to be registered within seven days since the arrival date.

TG' s liability, along with other airlines, is limited in accordance with the Montreal Convention. TG's liability is limited to 1288 SDR (Special Drawing Rights = a currency exchange rate that may vary) per customer for checked and unchecked baggage, which is why it may be to your advantage to contact your insurance company for reimbursement.
